About the Role
MWH is seeking an CMS Intern - Construction to support construction project work from our Corona, CA or Phoenix, AZ office. This internship provides hands-on exposure to construction operations and office administration within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The Administrative Intern will play a key support role by assisting with day-to-day administrative, documentation, and coordination activities that help keep projects running efficiently. This role is ideal for someone interested in construction, business operations, or project administration.
Learning Opportunities & Responsibilities
Project & Office Administration
- Assist with general administrative support for the project team, including document preparation, filing, and data entry
- Support document control efforts, including organizing and maintaining electronic and hard-copy project files
- Help track and log project documents such as RFIs, submittals, and correspondence
- Assist with meeting coordination, including preparing agendas, taking meeting minutes, and distributing follow-up items
- Update internal trackers, logs, and reports to support project transparency and organization
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as an administrative liaison between project team members, subcontractors, and internal departments
- Assist with preparing reports, presentations, and written communications
- Support onboarding and coordination efforts for new team members, vendors, or visitors to the job site
Procurement & Cost Support
- Assist with compiling vendor quotes, invoices, and basic cost documentation
- Help organize bid information, supplier lists, and procurement records
- Support the team with data gathering for estimates, change documentation, and reporting needs
General Business & Operations Exposure
- Gain insight into construction project workflows, scheduling, and compliance requirements
- Learn how large infrastructure projects are organized, documented, and managed
- Perform other administrative and operational support tasks as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or administrative experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or a related industry
- Interest in construction, infrastructure, or project-based environments
Compensation
- This is a paid internship budgeted at $23-26 an hour.
