Position: Information Services Data Integration Specialist
Category: Classified Exempt
Location: Technology Center
Reports to: Educational Systems Supervisor
SUMMARY: This position supports district-wide data systems by maintaining queries, reports, and data extracts, while serving as the primary point of contact for multiple educational applications and assisting with state and federal reporting. Strong technical skills in SQL and Microsoft applications, experience with data systems, and the ability to collaborate, train others, and uphold data integrity across platforms are essential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for rostering of all apps using SQL as well-being as being an IT admin in systems including PowerSchool, Traversa, ParentSquare, Mosaic, and Classlink
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of SQL queries created to build reports when requested
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of extracts to feed data to other education systems
- Responsible for creation, maintenance and updating scripts for vendors systems and staff requests
- Responsible for reviewing and requesting copies of vendor documentation to ensure data security
- Perform light server maintenance tasks relative to the role, including basic troubleshooting and routine updates
- Assist with state and federal reporting
- Assist with support and training on Business Intelligence toolset(s)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for applicable NSD applications/systems and is responsible for the upkeep of those applications/systems
- Collaborate with the Microsoft Specialist for Teams and group hygiene management
- Assist with Data Retention in applicable systems
- Responsible for processing the Monthly Enrollment Report for Board Meetings
- Representative/advocate of data team
- Assume responsibility for his or her continuing professional growth and development by attendance at professional meetings, membership in professional organizations, enrollment in advanced courses, and by reading professional journals and other publications
- Seek assistance should emergencies arise
- Represent the school district in a positive manner
- Know and follow school district policy and chain of command
- Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma required
- One to two years of related data quality experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Experience with Microsoft Applications required
- Knowledge and experience of SQL(intermediate level) required
- Experience with R, SQL, Python preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Experience with SQL for creating datasets
- Proficiency in system analysis to become familiar with systems and applications for generating reports upon request
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to maintain a positive environment and high standards of conduct for students and peers
- Able to work under pressure and deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of staff and students
- Knowledge and proven ability in positive behavior management
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Skilled in the use of internet, email, Microsoft Office, and other pertinent educational software systems (attendance, gradebook, grade reporting, etc.)
- Capable of interpreting policy, procedures, and data
- Ability to listen to others and remain receptive to new ideas
- Willingness and ability to create a team-oriented atmosphere within the workplace
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the district.
PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:
Demonstrates ability to diagnose and resolve data quality issues.
PRODUCTIVITY/EFFICIENCY SKILLS:
Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary, organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frame.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to conduct basic math functions and manipulate formulas in spreadsheets as needed.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to identify problems, collect data, define end user needs and determine if information can be provided and notify of intent. Provide appropriate data upon request.
