Job Summary:
As a Sanitation Pumper Driver, you will be responsible for driving a sanitation service truck to various job sites. Your primary duties include cleaning and emptying portable restrooms to uphold the standards set by National Construction Rentals, Inc. (NCR). It is essential to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner while reporting any operational issues promptly to the Dispatcher. This role does not entail supervisory responsibilities and focuses on maintaining sanitation and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
- Deliver exceptional customer service, greeting each customer with a professional, friendly, and positive demeanor.
- Obtain customer signatures on contracts and Damage Waivers as required.
- Drive company vehicles to job sites to service portable restrooms, ensuring they meet NCR standards.
- Replenish restroom supplies such as paper, seat liners, paper towels, soap, and hand sanitizer as needed.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety guidelines and actively participate in safety meetings.
- Conduct daily inspections of vehicles, complete Vehicle Inspection Reports, and notify the dispatcher before leaving the yard.
- Safely maintain and operate company vehicles and equipment.
- Utilize GPS navigation systems effectively to navigate job sites.
- Immediately report any accidents or damage to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, always adhering to safety protocols, and attend scheduled tailgate and quarterly safety meetings.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Works effectively from detailed instructions and occasionally makes decisions based on guidelines.
- Task-oriented assignments with detailed instructions for successful completion.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Applies common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record within company guidelines. For positions requiring operation of a vehicle with a GVWR of 10,000 lbs. or more, the incumbent must be at least 21 years old and hold a DOT medical card. Forklift certification is provided post-hire.
Physical Demands:
- The job often requires lifting and moving heavy objects, including portable restroom components, up to 100 pounds or more.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and physical exertion are common due to the nature of the work, which involves servicing portable restrooms at various job sites.
- The role involves working outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow.
- Tasks such as cleaning and emptying portable restrooms require manual labor and physical dexterity.
- Operating company vehicles to and from job sites involves sitting for prolonged periods and adhering to safe driving practices.
- Exposure to loud noise from machinery, vehicles, and construction activities is frequent and requires the use of hearing protection.
- Working with and around moving and vibrating mechanical parts poses risks that require attention to safety protocols.
- Handling cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents may be necessary, requiring adherence to safety guidelines and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Awareness of potential hazards and adherence to safety protocols is critical to mitigate risks associated with the job.
