Maintenance Technician- HVAC
Shift available: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
National Management Resources has provided facilities management services for over 40 years. We work in educational settings, including K-12 facilities, boarding schools, colleges, and universities all over the country. We offer competitive wages.
We're looking for a skilled and versatile HVAC and General Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. This dual-role position is critical to ensuring the safe, functional, and efficient operation of our building systems and physical infrastructure. The Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of advanced HVAC system diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance, as well as general building maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical aptitude and a commitment to high-quality workmanship and safety. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of work in HVAC and general maintenance and repairs to buildings, facilities, and equipment.

HVAC/Maintenance Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various HVAC systems, including split systems, packaged units, boilers, chillers, and associated controls.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment (e.g., changing filters, cleaning coils, lubricating motors, checking refrigerant levels) to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Install, repair, and replace thermostats, compressors, motors, fans, ductwork, and other components.
- Conduct seasonal start-up and shut-down procedures for heating and cooling systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on HVAC units.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes and regulations, including proper handling and disposal of refrigerants.
General Maintenance
- Perform routine building maintenance and repairs across all facility areas, including drywall patching, painting, and wall covering repair.
- Execute minor plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing fixtures (e.g., faucets, toilets).
- Conduct basic electrical repairs and installations, including replacing switches, outlets, ballasts, and light fixtures.
- Perform carpentry work, including repair or replacement of doors, locks, hardware, minor casework, and furniture.
- Respond promptly to maintenance work orders and emergency calls (including after-hours or on-call rotation as required).
- Maintain and repair exterior areas, including minor roof repairs, and ensuring walkways and common areas are clean and safe.
- Inspect and test fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, and other life safety systems.
HVAC/Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a valid Refrigerant License
· High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Work from ladders
- Climb stairs
- Stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Work in an outdoor environment, with exposure to inclement weather and varying temperatures.
HVAC/Maintenance Technician Minimum Work Experience:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC service and general building maintenance.
· HVAC/R Certification
· 3 years’ experience in one or more building trades
Passing a Drug Screening and Background Check is required for employment.
