Company Profile:
National Railroad Safety Services is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support and enhance our HR operations. This role will be responsible for a broad range of HR functions including employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, recruitment, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, fosters a positive workplace culture, is highly organized, and enjoys a high pace environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Stay abreast of changes in labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Facilitates background checks, MVR checks, and other industry specific requirements.
- Oversee the employee life cycle, ensuring consistency and compliance across all locations.
- Foster positive employee relations and address concerns in a timely manner.
- Administer employee benefit programs and responds to employee inquires.
- Supports performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist various departments with projects.
- Assist with leave administration.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations issues.
- Develop and update company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, and/or combination of education and significant work experience in Human Resources preferred.
- Minimum of three years' experience in the human resources (generalist experience preferred) field.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with workers' compensation and leave management practices.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software.
