Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
The Internal Systems Analyst partners closely with the Internal Systems Manager to enhance ECS data systems. This includes gathering requirements, mapping workflows, testing upgrades, and supporting new system rollouts. The role also contributes to improving efficiency across program areas such as ERSEA, CACFP, MSDS submissions, Non-Federal Share, and other ECS-related databases.
Data Systems & Database Support
- Assist with account setup, permissions, annual system utilities, and routine updates to maintain data quality and security.
- Support the design or modification of database tables, views, forms, and Access front-end tools to improve usability.
- Maintain documentation for processes, workflows, configurations, and reporting standards.
- Perform data quality checks and corrections to ensure integrity across systems
Reporting, Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards using SSRS, Power BI, MS Access, and T-SQL.
- Support staff and program leaders with recurring analytics, data extractions, and visualizations that meet compliance and operational needs.
ChildPlus & External System Support
- Assist with ChildPlus setup, user access, permissions, form design, and classroom/program term configuration.
- Prepare and validate files for MSDS reporting and support required demographic/identifier workflows (e.g., UIC).
Compliance & Program Reporting
- Help track Non-Federal Share contributions and ensure accuracy for internal and governing body reports.
- Support data collection and documentation for PIR and other state/federal reporting requirements.
Staff Support, Training & Engagement
- Provide day-to-day assistance to staff on database use, reporting protocols, and data standards.
- Help develop job aids, support training, and participate in user meetings to identify needs and share updates.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain the data and system request log to prioritize and track enhancement needs.
- Work with IT, leadership, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve system workflows.
- Participate in projects, pilots, and committees to support ECS-wide systems improvements.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required in information systems, data management, computer science, analytics, or a related technical field. An Associate's degree with 5+ years of directly related experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience working with database systems, reporting tools, or business intelligence platforms, including SQL/T-SQL., required; experience with Power BI, SSRS, and MS Access, supporting or administering enterprise-level data systems, and experience in Head Start, early childhood programs, or similar related environments preferred.
