The Marketing Director will develop and execute integrated go-to-market strategies that support our diverse portfolio of services, including bespoke timber frame homes and structures, mass timber, high performance enclosure systems, design, construction services, and fine woodworking.
This individual will collaborate with demand generation, customer acquisition, brand strategy, digital experience, marketing operations, and market positioning while ensuring strong alignment between marketing, sales, operations, and business development functions.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of how to build effective marketing systems that drive qualified project opportunities, support complex sales cycles, and strengthen premium brands.
This position is based in Farmington, New York, with occasional travel to our West Coast operations in McMinnville, Oregon, project locations, tradeshows, and industry events.
Business & Go-to-Market Strategy
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute strategic growth initiatives and long-term business plans.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive go-to-market strategies across New Energy Works businesses, services, markets, and geographies.
- Define audience segmentation strategies by customer type, project type, market sector, geography, and stage of the buying journey.

- Commercial timber frame and mass timber projects

- Construction services
- Fine woodworking
- Identify opportunities for market expansion and partnership development.
- Collaborate closely with leadership, sales, operations, marketing, and design teams to align marketing investments with strategic business priorities.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, customer behavior, and emerging market opportunities throughout North America.
Demand Generation & Customer Lifecycle
- Develop integrated demand generation strategies that create qualified leads and project opportunities.
- Design customer acquisition and nurture programs that support long-consideration, relationship-driven sales cycles.
- Establish marketing and sales processes for lead qualification, handoff, follow-up, and opportunity tracking.

- Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs)
- Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs)
- Opportunity stages
- Lead scoring models
- Routing and assignment workflows
- Develop lifecycle marketing programs that engage prospects, clients, referral partners, architects, builders, and industry influencers.
- Support business development efforts through targeted campaigns, account-based marketing initiatives, and strategic market outreach.
Website, Search & Content Strategy
- Develop and oversee website strategies that optimize user experience, lead conversion, customer engagement, and business growth.

- AI-search visibility and emerging search technologies
- Lead capture and conversion pathways

- Ensure all digital experiences reinforce the premium positioning of New Energy Works.
- Help identify and execute opportunities for any potential cross-branding content development and audience engagement.
Marketing Operations, CRM & Measurement
- Ensure the development and optimization of marketing systems, processes, automation, and reporting infrastructure.

- HubSpot CRM and marketing automation
- Lifecycle stage management
- Lead scoring and routing
- Nurture campaigns
- Analytics and reporting systems
- Establish clear measurement frameworks and reporting dashboards for leadership.

- Qualified lead generation
- Project pipeline contribution
- Campaign attribution
- Conversion rates

- Marketing return on investment

Brand, Communications & Market Reputation
- Serve as the chief steward of the New Energy Works brands.
- Ensure brand consistency, authenticity, and differentiation across all channels and customer touchpoints.
- Lead public relations, media relations, thought leadership, and industry communications strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, architects, builders, designers, industry organizations, and strategic partners.
- Oversee participation in industry conferences, tradeshows, sponsorships, speaking engagements, and events.
- Promote company culture, values, sustainability initiatives, and the triple bottom line philosophy of People, Planet, and Profit.
- Develop programs that strengthen employee engagement and cultivate brand ambassadors throughout the organization.
Team, Agency & Budget Leadership
- Lead and mentor internal marketing and creative resources while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, consultants, photographers, videographers, public relations firms, and strategic partners.
- Develop annual marketing budgets, investment plans, and resource allocation strategies.
- Ensure effective prioritization, execution, and measurement of all marketing initiatives.
- Facilitate strategic planning sessions, creative brainstorming, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Promote continuous learning, innovation, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the marketing function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Public Relations, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive marketing experience.
- Demonstrated success developing growth strategies, go-to-market plans, demand generation programs, and measurable business results.
- Experience leading marketing strategy within construction, architecture, design-build, luxury residential, building products, manufacturing, or related industries strongly preferred.
- Experience managing CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, digital marketing ecosystems, and performance measurement frameworks.
- Experience participating in executive leadership and strategic planning initiatives.
