Job Description
Join Nielsen’s Digital Account Management team and work with highly innovative, disruptive media companies in one of the fastest growing, rapidly evolving sectors in the media industry. We are seeking a highly motivated, digital media savvy, experienced sales professional with a hunter mentality, to develop relationships with and drive revenue with Nielsen’s key clients in the Social Media and Streaming Video industries. You will be the primary point of contact and liaison at Nielsen for your clients, responsible for protecting and growing revenue, identifying new opportunities within each business, deepening the relationship with existing constituents while cultivating relationships with new stakeholders, and coordinating cross-functionally within Nielsen. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of winning new business, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, have strong analytical skills, be passionate about media, be highly organized and self-motivated, and be comfortable with a revenue target.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets. This is a sales role.
- Identify prospects, manage outreach; develop data-driven, thought provoking insights to foster discussions; & coordinate cross-functionally within Nielsen.
- Create and deliver client presentations that capture clients’ core business issues and demonstrate how Nielsen can help.
- Cultivate a deep understanding of Nielsen’s products and solutions, and how the data bring value to clients’ businesses.
- Become an expert in your client - how they are organized and how their structure influences the way they partner with Nielsen, how they monetize, where and how they’re investing for the future; be able to synthesize your clients’ position, performance, and overall business to others at Nielsen.
- Account management and client service, coordinating across a number of cross-functional teams at Nielsen.
- Effectively advocate internally for client needs and manage client requests - big and small, tactical to strategic - with colleagues across the organization to drive value and deliver solutions to clients.
- Sales administration (maintain Salesforce pipeline, contract management), creating and monitoring financial forecasts, and maintaining regular communications to leadership and cross functional partners regarding financial performance against targets.
Qualifications
- Hunter mentality - a proven sales professional.
- Experience with TV and/or Digital media planning & buying.
- Knowledge of TV media planning & buying preferred.
- Strong relationship skills; experience managing stakeholders and partners (both externally and internally) to drive cross functional programs with a proven track record of delivering results through influence.
- Ability to drive strategic guidance and strong judgment especially relevant in balancing long term strategic investments with near term business goals.
- Team oriented and willing to roll up sleeves to solve complex, dynamic challenges.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills: ability to identify the right attendees externally and internally for driving outcomes and advancing initiatives and comfortability interfacing with clients’ senior executives/leadership.
- A critical thinker, problem solver and solutions oriented: History of developing business strategy in conjunction with senior leadership.
- Exhibits strong analytical skills with a knack for working with data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive action.
- BA/BS degree or higher.
- 7-15 years working in client service / sales in media, preferably from a media analytics firm, digital/social/streaming company, or agency.
