Responsibilities
- Under the direction of Clinical Supervisors, Medical Laboratory Scientists and Lab Coordinators performs receptionist, processor, and phlebotomist duties to serve patients with compassion and empathy.
- Accurately register patients by collecting and verifying demographic, insurance, and billing information.
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages
- Properly label, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory to ensure integrity and accuracy
- Communicate effectively with clinical departments to resolve registration or order issues.
- Provide courteous, professional service to the patients and families
- Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and hospital/clinic safety regulations at all times
Experience
- 1-2 years phlebotomy experience -PREFERRED
License/Certification/Education
- High school Diploma or Equivalent-REQUIRED
