About the Role:
The HIPPY Childcare Home Visitor serves as an early childhood coach and trusted partner to family, friends, and neighbor (FFN) and licensed childcare providers. Through relationship-based coaching, individualized support, and interactive group training, the HCC Home Visitor help providers build the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to create high-quality learning experiences that prepare young children for success in school and life. The Home Visitor also connects providers and families with community resources, promotes children’s health development, and supports continuous quality improvement within the home-based childcare setting.
What You Will Do:
- Build supportive, trusting relationships with home-based childcare providers.
- Deliver engaging one-on-one coaching sessions in providers’ homes or virtually every other week.
- Facilitate interactive group training sessions using role play, discussion, and hands-on learning activities.
- Model developmentally appropriate activities that promote children’s language, literacy, math, science, social-emotional, and physical development.
- Coach providers on implementing daily learning activities and adapting them to meet the needs of individual children.
- Support providers in understanding child development, early brain development, and positive guidance strategies.
- Help identify children’s development strengths and concerns and connect providers and families with community resources and early intervention services when appropriate.
- Build positive partnerships with families by encouraging home learning and strengthening provider-family communication.
- Deliver curriculum materials, books, and learning kits to providers throughout the program year.
- Maintain accurate documentation of visits, training and participation, child screenings, and program outcomes.
- Collaborate with fellow home visitors during weekly team meetings, role-practice, and professional development.
- Assist with recruiting and enrolling new childcare providers into the program.
- Promote an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment by supporting providers from divers backgrounds in English and Spanish (or through interpretation services when needed).
- Represent the program at community events and help connect providers with additional early childhood resources and support.
You’re a Great Fit If You:
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Have experience with parents and family education in the home, community, and other settings.
- Can obtain certification as required by an evidence-based program.
- Have a valid Colorado driver’s license with a driving record that meets agency insurability requirements as set forth for positions that must transport clients.
- Has experience with community outreach, advocacy, public speaking and/or teaching is desired.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish, Somali, Burmese, etc.) is preferred.
