Summary :
Provides direct and in-direct patient care under direction of nursing staff. Performs duties such as feed, bathe, dress, groom, or move patients, or change linens. May transfer or transport patients.
Responsibilities :
- Communicates and interacts with patients and families, physicians, peers and other health care members to maximize successful customer outcomes and maximize function of the unit.
- Precepts team members to job function
- Orients patient to hospital environment and routine.
- Documents all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
- Participates in unit quality improvement initiatives.
- Communicates appropriate information and patient needs to oncoming staff at change of shift and to RN in a timely manner for follow up.
- Provides care in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
- Label and Delivers specimens per policy.
- Maintains a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
- May perform other duties upon request.
Other Information :
- Current registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Maine.
- BLS certification is to be obtained prior to caring for patients and is to be kept current.
- 1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
