As a member of our Commercial Credit team, you'll work alongside experienced lenders and banking professionals to evaluate businesses, support lending decisions, and help protect the strength of our loan portfolio. Your work will directly influence the growth of local businesses and communities.
What You'll Do
No two days are exactly alike. Depending on your experience level, you'll:
- Analyze commercial financial statements, tax returns, and credit information
- Spread financial statements and evaluate borrower performance
- Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities
- Calculate cash flow, debt service coverage, financial ratios, and collateral values
- Research industries, companies, and market conditions
- Prepare clear, well-written credit analyses and loan presentations
- Partner with commercial lenders to evaluate new and existing borrowing relationships
- Monitor financial reporting requirements and loan covenant compliance
- Investigate payment histories and review third-party credit reports
- Prepare portfolio reports and communicate potential credit concerns
- Help ensure compliance with banking regulations, policies, and lending standards
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
For Experienced Analysts
If you're joining us as a Credit Analyst II or Senior Credit Analyst, you'll also have opportunities to:
- Evaluate more complex commercial lending relationships
- Recommend credit decisions based on comprehensive financial analysis
- Review commercial risk ratings and loan structures
- Perform appraisal and loan documentation reviews
- Lead research projects involving industries and commercial borrowers
- Coach and mentor developing analysts
- Collaborate with leadership on special projects and portfolio initiatives
- Support internal and external audits

Qualifications
Credit Analyst I
- High school diploma or equivalent
- College-level accounting coursework preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Banking or financial institution experience is a plus
Credit Analyst II
- Two or more years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, business structures, and commercial lending
Senior Credit Analyst
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Five or more years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience
- Experience analyzing complex commercial relationships
- Leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience is a plus
Military education and relevant experience are welcomed and may be considered in place of traditional education or experience requirements.
Technical Skills
You'll be successful if you're comfortable with:
- Financial statement analysis
- Commercial credit underwriting
- Cash flow analysis
- Financial ratio analysis
- Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Working with financial models, spreadsheets, and databases
