We offer South Sound residents compassionate, experienced, and innovative treatment in cancer care, and have an immediate opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our team.
Location: This position will be primarily in our Puyallup location infusion suite, with occasional potential travel to other sites based on clinic need.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- As directed by the ordering physician, access central venous access device (port/catheter) according to clinic policy and establish peripheral IV site or ensure patency of previously placed IV site prior to starting treatment.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
- Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.
- Handles, administers and verifies doses of hazardous drugs.
**To ensure the safety of NWMS’ vulnerable patient populations, we require post-offer proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot and COVID-19. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.
