The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary/Exempt: $61,775.01-$68,491.06
Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly
General Description
FACT: Under the supervision of the TRR Director. Provides oversight and supervision of the Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) team. The purpose of the program is to provide intensive rehabilitative services to individuals with serious mental illness who are involved with the criminal justice system. These individuals may have co-occurring substance use and physical health disorders. FACT is an intervention that bridges the behavioral health and criminal justice system. Will provide consumer contact that is frequent, sometimes daily, with individuals, family members, or service providers to maintain community integration.
Will be responsible for the supervisor, training, consults, project accountability, reporting, coordination, and basic management of the day-to-day program operations. The work involves reviewing, evaluating, and reporting of program requirements to ensure compliance with standards. Will supervise the work of others. Will provide networking and collaboration with the ACT program. Participate in mandated meetings and conference calls to meet program requirements. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Job requires travel, flexible hours, and a telephone.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in counseling, social work, psychology or a field related to human behavior. Current licensure in Texas to provide counseling services (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, etc.)
Must have 2 years' experience working in a clinical mental health setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In the course of being employed, understands and implements trauma informed care practices.
- Demonstration of the clinical competencies required by agency-approved, standardized training
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Computer literate
- Ability to participate as a team member
- Experience in the use of teaching and counseling techniques and rehabilitation services required in providing effective assistance to persons who are disabled
- Considerable knowledge of assessment techniques and tools
- Knowledge of client care techniques, and of treatment, therapy and of developmental programs
- Ability to plan an individualized program of instruction with the client
- Ability to work with others and to gain and retain the confidence of persons being instructed, guided, or directed.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to formulate, organize, and implement a plan of action.
- Must have reliable transportation. May use personal vehicle to conduct business. Must have a valid driver's license at all times, liability insurance and a good driving record.
