Job Purpose
The K-8 teacher is responsible for instructing and nurturing students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade. They play a crucial role in shaping students' educational and social development by providing a well-rounded curriculum and fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary job duties and responsibilities:
- Develops and implements age-appropriate lesson plans and teaching strategies for various subjects, ensuring they align with state and district educational standards.
- Establishes and maintains a well-organized, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that promotes active student participation, cooperation, and discipline.
- Delivers engaging and effective instruction across multiple subjects, adapting teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Regularly assesses and evaluates student progress through quizzes, tests, assignments, and other assessment methods. Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
- Identifies and addresses the unique needs and challenges of individual students, including those with special educational requirements or learning disabilities.
- Maintains open and proactive communication with parents and guardians to update them on students' progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Continuously engages in professional development activities to stay up to date on the latest teaching techniques, educational trends, and curriculum developments.
- Collaborates with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to coordinate curriculum, share best practices, and address school-wide issues.
- Manages and utilizes educational materials, technology, and resources effectively to enhance the learning experience.
- Promotes positive social and behavioral development in students, emphasizing values such as respect, responsibility, and empathy.
- Ensures the safety and well-being of students at all times, including during emergency situations.
- Upholds high ethical standards in all interactions with students, parents, colleagues, and the school community.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
Necessary and desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Has commitment to continued personal and professional growth

- Strong knowledge of educational principles, child development, and classroom management.

- Education Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Teaching credential or certification is required.
- State-specific teaching certification or licensure, as per local regulations.
- Experience Preferred:

Working Conditions
