At NES, we pride ourselves on fostering a warm, inclusive environment where academic excellence and outdoor learning go hand-in-hand.Position SummaryAs a vital member of the OESU leadership team, the School Principal provides strategic instructional leadership, operational management, and community oversight for Newbury Elementary School. The primary focus of this role is to champion student achievement and growth while cultivating a safe, healthy, and positive school climate for all students and staff.The ideal candidate will be a collaborative communicator who can sustain a nurturing school culture, support staff development, and lead the implementation of proactive, positive behavioral frameworks (such as PBIS) to ensure every child thrives.Performance ResponsibilitiesA detailed job description is available on the oesu.org website, with core responsibilities centered on: Instructional Leadership: Driving equitable, high-quality curriculum and student achievement.Culture and Climate: Fostering a supportive, safe, and positive school environment.Communication & Collaboration: Cultivating strong partnerships with families, the Thetford community, and the broader OESU leadership team.Supervision & Professional Growth: Evaluating, mentoring, and supporting a highly dedicated faculty and staff.Operations & Budgeting: Overseeing sound fiscal management and daily building operations.Experience: Have previously demonstrated at least three (3) years of successful licensed teaching experience.Three (3) years of building-level administrative experience is desirable.Demonstrated experience providing leadership in an academic environment, preferred.Successful performance in the position held at the time of application.Equivalent experience shall be considered.A competitive salary and benefit package is available and based upon experience.
