Are you a mechanically inclined technician looking to grow your career working on some of the largest and most critical propulsion and power systems in the industry? We are seeking a Mid-Level Propulsion Systems Technician to join our team in Kent, Washington. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced technicians and Foremen performing inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines, natural gas engines, turbines, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment in both shop and field environments.

What You'll Do
As a Propulsion Systems Technician, you will:
- Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on propulsion systems, large mechanical drive systems, engines, turbines, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
- Assist with diagnosing fuel, cooling, lubrication, and other mechanical system issues.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble propulsion equipment following OEM specifications and company standards.
- Perform equipment testing and verify performance after repairs and maintenance.
- Support field service projects, scheduled maintenance, overhauls, and emergency repairs.
- Prepare tools, equipment, and replacement parts for service projects.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and service documentation.
- Complete service reports, inspection records, labor documentation, and maintenance reports accurately.
- Maintain safe work practices while complying with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Participate in continuous training, manufacturer certifications, and technical development programs.
- Support inventory control, tool management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience in mechanical, industrial, heavy equipment, marine, power generation, or propulsion-related environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on engines, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery (troubleshooting and repair).
- Ability to safely use hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and diagnostic tools.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work in industrial facilities, shops, and outdoor environments.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites and work overtime, weekends, and outage schedules when required.
- Must own a basic set of mechanic's tools.
- High level of reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school, trade school, or vocational training in mechanics, diesel technology, marine technology, or a related field.
- Experience with diesel engines, natural gas engines, turbines, propulsion systems, gearboxes, or rotating equipment.
- Ability to read mechanical schematics and technical manuals.
- Previous apprenticeship or internship experience.
- Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is a plus.
- Valid passport is a plus.
- Willingness to complete company-sponsored manufacturer training, both online and in person.
