THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.
Use the Job ID based on the Position Location as follows
Performs technical inspection and enforcement work to ensure construction projects comply with County construction codes, applicable regulations, and Building Division policies. Reviews and inspects a variety of construction projects and building plans to verify compliance with current building codes, ordinances, and established standards. Work is performed within the framework of applicable construction codes and Building Division policies under the direct supervision of an administrative superior. Performance is evaluated through oral and written examinations, reinspection of plans and projects, and the quality and accuracy of work performed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of experience in construction work as an Architect, Engineer, Contractor, Inspector, Electrician, Plumber, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician, or Carpenter in the appropriate trade.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The selected candidate for this position MUST:
Obtain a Florida Provisional Inspector certification in Structural within 120 days of hire AND a Florida Standard Inspector certification in Structural within eleven (11) months of hire.
