The Lead Engineer provides guidance and direction on process and structural engineering analysis, calculations and design of all specialized and Engineered to Order (ETO) products.
This position will oversee all project direction from an engineering perspective as well as analyze and provide solutions to challenges. This position will provide guidance and training to all other engineers throughout the organization. The Lead Engineer supervises, supports, trains and develops other engineers or technically disciplined coworkers.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for coaching, teaching, and supervision of assigned personnel.
- Responsible for effective employee relations. Initiates and is proactive with employee coaching and development. Resolves employee issues through identifying problems and resolutions.
- Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals while adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Responsible for the performance management (hiring, development, discipline, termination) of direct reports while collaborating with Human Resources.
- Responsible for building and maintaining business relationships, which includes working with all levels of the organization.
- Work cross-functionally with others and lead meetings to determine needs, evaluate project progress, troubleshoot challenges, and execute according to the assigned to project.
- Assess current team capabilities and identify skill gaps. Lead the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of engineering personnel to meet project demands. Provide mentorship, training, development, and succession planning for engineering staff.
- Provide mechanical engineering analysis and specification (e.g. process, structural).
- Performs and/or monitors the preparation of design output (e.g. drawings, datasheets, specs.).
- Performs and/or monitors the review of design output to assure project requirements are fulfilled.
- Performs and/or monitor the preparation and quality of engineering output (e.g. ASME calculation reports, support reactions, process estimates, specifications).
- Develop and communicate plans for project execution.
- Establish and maintain document control procedures.
- Oversee transition and assignment of new projects to direct reports.
- Support and troubleshoot assembly and testing processes as they relate to design manufacturability and functionality.
- Provide timely resolution to issues related to process, design and/or structural engineering throughout the production process.
- Provide advanced process, design and structural support throughout the production processes as needed.
- Collaborate with other professional disciplines throughout the business on technical inquires and needs.
- Drive and execute continuous improvement ideas and projects to improve efficiencies, improve manufacturability and reduce rework.
- Provide strategic direction for engineering projects, ensuring that solutions are innovative, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Support a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to maintain the company's competitive edge.
- Provide training to direct personnel and customers as needed.
- Travel including international, could be up to 15% as required by the project or other needs.
- Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position

- Experience with beverage processing equipment design as applicable.
- Experience with agitation processes, design and/or process design with skidded systems as applicable.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other structural analysis software (e.g. Compress) as applicable.
- Advanced experience with AutoCAD and Inventor as applicable.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. ASME) as applicable.
- Knowledge of estimating, construction costs, scheduling, purchasing, engineering principles and techniques, and various construction methods and installation procedures
- Broad understanding of a wide spectrum of materials, their characteristics, tolerances and limitations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar degree program is required.
- Professional Engineering License is required.
- Obtain and maintain a Certificate of Engineer of Responsible Charge per ASME Section VIII Division 1 for two or more scope activities as applicable.
- Minimum of seven (7) or more years of experience in a process and structural engineering related field is required.
Base Compensation Range: $121,990 - $208,667 annually
Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 12% of gross annual salary base on company performance.

Professional office environment with some time spent in a manufacturing shop. Use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets, etc.). Frequent presence on the manufacturing floor as well as field operations. Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures.
