Elementary Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

• Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license; or
• Master’s Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years
• SEI endorsement through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint check.

Reports to: Building Principal

Work Year: School Year (184 days)

Salary/Benefits: Consistent with the negotiated educator salary schedule

Performance Responsibilities:

• Design and implement curriculum with well-structured units and lessons.
• Have strong subject-matter knowledge in the core subject areas.
• Evaluate student performance through assignments, quizzes, tests, and other assessments, and adapt instruction appropriately.
• Recognize and address the individual needs of students, and differentiate instruction appropriately.
• Provide a safe and collaborative learning environment for all students.
• Engage families and community members as necessary.
• Collaborate with colleagues and engage in reflective practice.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel and students.
• Contribute to an overall school culture where ongoing personal and professional development is valued.
• Collaborate with educators on support plans for students
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel and students.
• Communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form.
• Ensure those strategies used support Pentucket’s curriculum goals.

• Ability to work in a normal classroom, office and school building environment.
• Ability to move freely about the building to perform duties with staff.
• Ability to utilize computers and other administrative technologies appropriate to the position.
