Job description
Primarily responsible for booking and managing outside OTR Trucks for PTC Logistics. The Assistant Logistics Account Manager will book trucks on lanes and ensure the effective management of each load in order to provide optimal customer service. This position in conjunction with the Director of Logistics will organize the efficient distribution of inbound raw materials to the processing facility, and outbound finished goods to each Regional Distribution Center and the customer to ensure that orders are correctly satisfied and cost efficient. The Assistant Logistics Account Manager is expected to manage the daily activities and resolve any issues under his/her qualified discretion.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage outside truckload transportation for PTC Logistics
Book Trucks off of DAT
Negotiating for best rate and service with carriers
Ensure carriers meet or exceed performance requirements including customer service, quality, and compliance
Responsible for shipment from booking truck to final delivery
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Truck booking experience (reefer freight is a plus)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Extensive knowledge on DAT load board
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to learn and understand transportation software systems and technologies
Critical thinking and problem solving
