POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the direct supervision of the Engineering Supervisor, direct the work of other personnel and work with/without supervision to configure different types of electrical and avionics systems associated with several different types of aircraft/rotorcraft. Prepare and update electrical drawings reflecting these configurations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assist the Engineering Manager in evaluating ideas and projects presented to the Engineering Department for feasibility and practicality.- Make/assist in planning the best approach to present installation/repair/modification data in drawing packages.
- Assist in assigning priorities to projects and catalog drawing packages required for its implementation.
- Assist in checking newly developed drawing packages for accuracy and legibility.
- Interpret manufacturer's equipment wiring diagrams.
- Draft wiring diagrams to facilitate installation in an aircraft in accordance with applicable FAA Regulations and MIL SPECS.
- Consult with aircraft and vendor's product service representatives to resolve problems.
- Assist Avionics and Field personnel on installation activities when required.
- Design and setup mockups with the assistance of other departments.
- Assist other departments with their designs, mockups, and test panels.
- Write procedures for other departments on the correct usage/testing of their test panels.
- Modify existing off-the-shelf products to comply to the needs of the company and produce proper documentation to reflect this modification.
- Responsible for supporting company Safety Management System activities.
- Complying with company HS&E policies and procedures.
- Any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of a two-year electrical/electronic/avionic technical school diploma or equivalent.- Five years' experience with aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
- FCC Licensed and/or FAA Repairman Certificate.
- Computer Aided Drafting and Design techniques.
- Knowledge and training in AutoCAD, with a basic understanding of FAA certification processes preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- Strong aptitude in software applications, databases, and programming.
