Work Location & Travel Expectations
This position requires 100% travel and project-site presence based on business needs. Candidates local to the Claude, Texas area are preferred. Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly preferred due to workforce communication needs.
Project assignments generally last 10 to 17 months, depending on project duration and operational requirements. This role requires five 10-hour shifts per week, with overtime required.
Position Overview
The Field Recruiter serves as a key liaison between field operations, recruiting, and Human Resources on assigned project sites. This field-based role supports hiring coordination, onboarding activities, workforce documentation, employee support, and project-related HR administrative functions in a fast-paced industrial construction environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, has experience working with union and non-union craft labor, and can effectively manage large hiring events, orientations, and onboarding activities. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build relationships with candidates, union representatives, project leadership, and field personnel.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an HR and recruiting liaison for assigned project sites
- Support onboarding activities for new hires and transfers
- Assist with workforce documentation, employee records, and compliance tracking
- Support project leadership with HR-related administrative needs
- Assist employees with basic HR, payroll, and onboarding questions
- Maintain accurate workforce and employee data within company systems
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and project workforce tracking documents
- Communicate professionally with craft employees, supervisors, recruiters, and corporate teams
- Coordinate hiring for high-volume craft positions supporting industrial construction operations
- Partner with union halls to request, track, and coordinate referrals for skilled craft professionals
- Coordinate hiring activities for both union and non-union employees in accordance with project requirements
- Conduct onsite new hire orientations and ensure all required onboarding documentation is completed accurately and on time
- Manage employee registration, pre-employment paperwork, compliance documentation, and onboarding records
- Schedule and coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screenings, and safety training as required
- Maintain accurate applicant tracking and onboarding records within company systems

Work closely with project management, superintendents, workforce planning, HR, and safety teams to meet staffing demands
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Assist with workforce reporting, staffing metrics, and recruiting updates for project leadership
- Support employee engagement efforts during onboarding to promote a positive new hire experience
- Assist with additional HR and project support duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, or related coursework preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will be considered
- Previous experience in HR, recruiting, workforce administration, construction support, or administrative coordination preferred
- Industrial construction or project-based workforce experience is a plus
- Ability to work in fast-paced project environments
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Ability to manage confidential information professionally
- Strong organizational and communication skills required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required
- Experience with HRIS, onboarding systems, or workforce tracking systems preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Perform physical movements such as bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing
- Safely navigate active construction sites, including uneven, confined, or cluttered work areas
- Work at elevated heights and comply with fall protection and safety requirements
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Work in environments with exposure to noise, dust, temperature extremes, and other construction-related conditions
- Interpret technical drawings and visualize three-dimensional concepts when needed
- Maintain sufficient vision, hearing, coordination, and awareness to safely perform job duties
- Ability to work extended shifts, including up to 12 hours, in outdoor construction environments and varying weather conditions
- Maintain physical stamina and strength to perform demanding job duties throughout the workday
