Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant specializing in Gynecology to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a thorough understanding of women's health, and excellent patient service capabilities. In this role, you will support gynecological providers by performing clinical tasks, assisting with patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and ensuring comfort.
• Assist gynecology providers during examinations and procedures, including specimen collection and minor office procedures.
• Manage patient intake processes efficiently, including scheduling appointments and updating electronic health records (EHR).
• Support clinical documentation by accurately recording medical information, medication details, and procedural notes.
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as phlebotomy, specimen handling, and processing as required.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and health maintenance strategies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Support administrative duties such as managing medical records, ICD coding for diagnoses, and billing documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with a focus on gynecology or women's health.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy relevant to gynecology, and physiology fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical documentation practices.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; relevant training in pharmacology and medication administration is advantageous.
• Experience with outpatient clinic operations, intake procedures, vital signs monitoring, and EMR/EHR management.
• Familiarity with ICD coding standards for accurate diagnosis documentation.
• Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse populations.
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as outpatient clinics or hospital settings with inpatient experience preferred.
