Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management
- Manage contracts from bid and negotiation through project closeout
- Monitor contract performance to ensure all parties meet their obligations
- Track and administer contract changes, amendments, and claims with proper documentation
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and preconstruction teams to align contracts with project objectives
- Ensure all deliverables (labor, materials, services) meet contractual requirements
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance
Risk Management
- Identify and assess risks related to contracts, scope, and project timelines
- Develop mitigation strategies and support dispute resolution efforts
- Ensure all insurance and bonding requirements are met and documented
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards (OSHA, building codes, environmental requirements)
- Maintain accurate and organized contract records, including amendments and communications
- Manage key documentation such as lien waivers, payment applications, and change orders
Financial Oversight
- Review and approve payment applications in alignment with contract terms and project progress
- Monitor budgets and costs, identifying potential variances or overruns
- Partner with finance teams to ensure timely payments and resolve billing issues
Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters
- Provide regular updates to internal teams, clients, and subcontractors
- Facilitate meetings to review contract status, progress, and changes
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare reports on contract performance, status, and financial metrics
- Analyze outcomes to identify improvements for future projects
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3–7 years of experience in construction contract administration, project management, or similar roles
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including AIA, FIDIC, and other standard forms
- Ability to manage multiple projects and contracts in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in construction/project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, or similar)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
