Job Goal:
Improve student outcomes through the delivery of professional development and services, development of products, and participation in special project activities in the area of elementary mathematics, including Texas Mathematics Achievement Academy Cohort Leader responsibilities, that support the ESC’s core purpose and strategic goals
Qualifications:
Education
Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or universityCertification
- Texas Teacher Certificate for the appropriate content and grade levels Mid-management or Supervisory Certificate, preferred
Experience
- Five years of teaching experience in the area of elementary mathematics, with a proven track record of measurable growth in student achievement
- Coaching experience in the area of elementary mathematics, with a proven track record of measurable growth in student achievement.
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of Kindergarten – Grade 5 Mathematics TEKS
- Expertise in the Mathematics Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS)
- Broad-based knowledge of elementary mathematics pedagogy, assessment, instructional technology, and instructional coaching
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills
- Ability to quickly build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders
Major Responsibilities :
- Develop, present, and facilitate effective professional development, including the Texas Mathematics Academies as defined by the Texas Education Agency
- Facilitate discussions, provide feedback, and evaluate artifacts using a Learning Management System (Canvas) to implement the Texas Mathematics Academy content
- Provide one-on-one instructional coaching to teachers and administrators, as necessary
- Collaborate with campus and school system leadership regarding the progress of mathematics instruction and achievement
- Develop products to support improved student outcomes, as necessary
- Provide technical assistance and services, in alignment with Region 4 processes and procedures and job-related initiatives and grant guidelines.
- Provide leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating professional development, services, and products in the area(s) of responsibility.
- Maintains and organizes tracking systems, dashboards, and tools to monitor implementation progress, service delivery, and engagement, and ensures accurate, transparent, and on-time reporting and analysis of progress and performance results to internal/external stakeholders through the creation and utilization of dashboards and monthly progress meetings.
- Proactively builds and maintains strong collaborative relationships with educators and leaders within the region.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in center initiatives that support the improvement of student outcomes.
- Develop, present, and facilitate effective professional development, specifically in high need areas such as learning acceleration and/or state initiatives related to improving student outcomes in mathematics.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of ongoing needs assessment and services for Region 4 customer school systems, as necessary.
- Participate in state-level functions related to the area(s) of responsibility, as necessary.
