The Customer Sales Representative (CSR) plays a critical role in driving revenue, building customer relationships, and supporting the overall success of the business. This position requires a proactive, customer-focused professional who can effectively communicate the value of the rental program, product features, and agreement terms while ensuring an outstanding customer experience.
The CSR serves as the first point of contact for customers—both in-store and through digital channels. This includes engaging walk-in traffic, handling inbound/outbound calls, managing CRM systems, and closing leads generated through marketing efforts such as social media and Facebook Live events.
Success in this role requires the ability to generate new business through prospecting, follow up on CRM and marketing leads, and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure retention and on-time payments. The CSR must consistently apply proven sales techniques while contributing to a clean, organized, and “Rent Ready” store environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Greet customers in-store, by phone, and through digital channels; build relationships and identify customer needs.
● Present and sell the rental program, club program, clearly explaining terms, commitments, and payment expectations.
● Demonstrate product features and benefits to match customer needs.
● Deliver a seamless experience for new customers.
● Promote on-time payment habits and assist customers with payment processing.
● Maintain consistent communication using the customer’s preferred method (phone, text,
email, social media).
Lead Generation, CRM & Marketing
● Actively manage and update customer interactions using CRM systems.
● Follow up on inbound leads from marketing campaigns, including Facebook Live, social media, and online inquiries.
● Participate in and support live selling events (e.g., Facebook Live), including showcasing products and engaging with viewers in real time.
● Execute daily prospecting activities using company-provided sales and solicitation strategies.
● Assist with local marketing efforts to generate new business and increase store visibility.
● Track and follow up on leads while maintaining detailed and accurate data.
Sales Floor Operations
● Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom that is always “Rent Ready.”
● Ensure all merchandise is clean, functional, properly priced, and tagged.
● Assist with merchandising, product placement, and promotional displays.
● Maintain a clean and organized customer service counter area.
● Perform basic product cleaning and minor repairs as needed.
Asset Control & Administrative Duties
● Accurately complete rental agreements, process transactions, and handle cash responsibly.
● Maintain an accurate cash drawer and assist with end-of-day balancing and deposits.
● Follow company procedures for inventory control, receiving, and transfers.
● Input and verify customer information accurately in POS and CRM systems.
● Protect confidential customer and company information.
● Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Team & Professional Development
● Participate in team meetings, sales training, and ongoing development opportunities.
● Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and improve performance.
● Promote a positive team environment and contribute to overall store success.
● Represent the company professionally within the local community.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
● Strong communication, sales, and customer service skills.
● Proficiency with computers, open to learn POS systems, CRM platforms, and social media tools.
● Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively.
● Comfortable engaging customers both in-person and through digital platforms (including live video).
● Reliable, dependable, and able to handle business transactions responsibly.
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude.
● Ability to lift and move furniture, appliances, and electronics using proper techniques.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
● Ability to lift and maneuver heavy merchandise (furniture, appliances, electronics).
● Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
● Ensure accuracy of customer data at every interaction.
● Maintain proper payment schedules and account status for customers.
● Support store marketing initiatives and community outreach efforts.
● Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes and customer experience.
