The Part-Time Fast Pass Instructor delivers high-quality TSIA readiness instruction and tutoring to high school students participating in Restore Education’s Fast Pass program in partnership with Bexar County school districts. This position plays a critical role in preparing students to demonstrate college readiness by strengthening academic fundamentals, building confidence and test-taking strategies, and supporting students in developing individualized study plans aligned to TSIA Math and ELAR objectives. The Part-Time Fast Pass Instructor reports to and is supervised by the Fast Pass Coordinator & Lead Instructor.
Supervisor: Chief Program Officer, with support from the contracted Fast Pass Coordinator
FLSA Status: Part-Time (Hourly), Non-exempt
Location: Various partner ISD campuses in Bexar County (travel required)
Responsibilities:
Instruction & Academic Support
- Deliver Fast Pass curriculum in TSIA Math and/or ELAR to assigned student cohorts.
- Facilitate 10-15 hours of instructor-led Fast Pass instruction per cohort.
- Lead cohort-based tutoring sessions and mini-TSI simulation activities.
- Model effective test-taking strategies, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Support students in developing individualized TSIA study plans.
- Reinforce reading, writing, and math skills aligned to TSIA objectives.
- Integrate mindset and confidence-building learning strategies into instruction.
Student Engagement & Support
- Build positive, culturally responsive relationships with students.
- Monitor student engagement, attendance, and participation.
- Identify academic or non-academic barriers to TSIA success.
- Communicate student progress and concerns to the Fast Pass Coordinator.
- Encourage students’ connection to postsecondary pathways (TSIA completion, dual credit, college exploration).
Program Fidelity & Collaboration
- Deliver instruction in alignment with Restore Education’s Fast Pass curriculum model.
- Participate in required instructor training and professional development.
- Attend regular instructor meetings for alignment and continuous improvement.
- Support accurate documentation of attendance, module completion, and required program data.
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Prior teaching, tutoring, or academic intervention experience.
- Strong instructional skills in Math and/or ELAR.
- Ability to engage and motivate high school students.
- Willingness to travel to partner ISD campuses.
Preferred:
- Experience preparing students for TSIA, SAT, ACT, or similar standardized assessments.
- Experience working with economically disadvantaged or first-generation college-bound students.
- Background in secondary education or college readiness programming.

Schedule: Part-time hours will vary based on cohort scheduling and district needs. Instruction typically occurs during school hours, with occasional evenings or weekends required.
Estimated time commitment: Approximately 10-15 instructional hours per cohort plus preparation time and required meetings.
Estimated Hourly Rate: $20-24 per hour, dependent on experience and education.
- This position is grant funded. Although the grant is expected to end, additional funding might be obtained to extend the grant beyond the end date. If that would occur, your employment under the grant might also be extended. However, all employment is considered at will and may be terminated by you or the agency at any time regardless of the grant's end date.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Must possess a valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s License or obtain one within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work requires visual acuity, speech, hearing, and manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. Duties include sitting, standing, walking, bending and twisting as needed to perform essential functions.
