About the Role:
The Housekeeping Aide plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and guests. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that all areas are hygienic and well-organized. The Housekeeping Aide will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation, which directly impacts the comfort and satisfaction of those we serve. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality are essential, as the aide will be expected to follow established protocols and procedures. Provides exceptional customer service to all visitors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field is preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in cleaning or sanitation practices.
- Experience working in a healthcare or residential setting.
Responsibilities:
- Cleans patients’ rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting area, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a timely manner.
- Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure, and accordingly to manufacturers recommendations.
- Uses and maintains equipment properly.
- Promote service excellence by demonstrating polite, cooperative and respectful behavior to both internal and external customers. Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
- Supports other members of the team, specifically as a Laundry Aide when needed.
- Introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
- Observes safety precautions and uses proper safety signage. Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
- Transports trash and infectious waste to appropriate disposal area.
- Replenishes supplies.
- Follows all infection control practices including handwashing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
- Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties. Safeguard security and confidentiality of data/information according to HIPAA guidelines.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong attention to detail, which is essential for ensuring that all cleaning tasks are completed thoroughly and to a high standard. Time management skills are also important, as the Housekeeping Aide will need to prioritize tasks effectively to meet the demands of the role. Communication skills are necessary for reporting issues and collaborating with other staff members. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols, will enhance the aide's ability to perform tasks safely and efficiently. Overall, a combination of these skills will enable the Housekeeping Aide to contribute positively to the environment and the satisfaction of residents and guests.
