We are looking to add a Commercial Roofing Estimator to our team!
This job focuses on producing high-quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines, and procedures. The person in this role needs to be precise, consistent, and patient, with a willingness to prioritize one task at a time. Work in this role tends to be stable, based on existing people relationships and well-defined processes.
Someone in this role will build job knowledge and competency through structured, step-by-step training and positive, supportive coaching from management and peers. They are expected to communicate with others based on the expertise and procedures they develop within the role.
Duties
- Work with sales staff in reviewing opportunities. (Roof plans, measurements, cores, etc.)
- Work with sales staff to determine the best roofing system to make RPI the most competitive choice
- Support RPI sales staff by completing all commercial and service “project” estimates, change orders, prices, proposals
- Complete job take-off based off roof plans and photos provided by sales team
- Develop relationships with distributors and manufacturers for pricing and scope development
- Solicits and analyzes subcontractor and vendor pricing input when required
- Jobsite roof analysis
- Coring of Existing Roof Systems
- Existing Roofing Measurement
- Detailed Roof Plan in Job File
- Set-up of jobs – checklist on next page
- Hand off meeting to Operations
- Attend pre-construction meeting as necessary
- Track job cost with Operations Team on commercial projects
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating within the roofing or broader construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation processes.
- Experience with Edge Estimating software or similar estimating software is highly preferred.
- Proficient in all computer software programs used in estimating and construction (Microsoft Teams/Word/Excel/Outlook, Edge, Bluebeam, CompanyCam, SalesForce)
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, project management principles, and cost control strategies.
- Hands-on construction site experience that provides insight into field operations and safety protocols.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents accurately.
Pay: $60,638.03 - $80,000.00 per year
