Summary
Maintenance is responsible for proactively maintaining and repairing SAS facilities including the interior and exterior building up-keep, routine preventative maintenance, following sanitation standards, and other tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions
- General building maintenance (electrical, carpentry, plumbing, etc.)
- Conveyor maintenance and repair including preventive maintenance work.
- Stamper maintenance.
- Oversee contractors, call for service, and monitor work performed.
- Keep records of repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Maintain forklift batteries.
- Lighting repairs, wiring, and light bulb replacement as needed.
- Maintain dock doors and plates.
- Repair various equipment including transportation dollies, ceiling tiles, racks, etc.
- Make recommendations for improving the efficiency of the operation.
- Monitor material handling equipment and communicate with service personnel on repairs.
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for sales personnel and customer traffic.
- Various projects as directed by management.
Competencies
- Must have mechanical capability to troubleshoot, repair, and complete preventive maintenance on:
- Conveyor Systems to include belts, photo eyes, drive chains, pulleys, etc.
- Compressors
- Be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
- Ability to work efficiently and productively with or without supervision.
- Be available at all times in the event of system issues during production shifts.
- Be able to prioritize projects based on system needs and requirements.
Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse setting. The facility is not mechanically temperature controlled. The floor surface is concrete and wood. The noise level is moderate with no vibration. The environment encompasses all areas of a Distribution Center; material movement takes place throughout the facility. This position requires the teammate to work inside most of the time. This position may require work in hot and cold temperature extremes and exposure to dust, dirt, noise, solvents, and components, and working in close to proximity to other teammates. Closed-toe shoes are a requirement.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to grab, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to (50) fifty pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to (60) sixty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than (80) eighty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Positions are 2ndshift; Sunday - Thursday, 2:00pm-10:30pm. Hours listed are general hours and may be altered as needed. Additional hours may be required to fulfill job duties and position expectations.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have experience with basic internet cabling and working with programs to install and repair technical devices such as routers, link boxes and scanners
- Certification on MHE Repair preferred
