This is a grant-funded position for up to three years.
BASIC FUNCTION
The Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) Program Manager leads the development, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of a recovery-affirming community that supports students in recovery from substance use disorders and other behavioral health challenges, as well as those seeking recovery. Grounded in ARHE standards, the CRP Program Manager fosters a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment that promotes wellness, belonging, and academic success. The role integrates student support, program coordination, community partnerships, and prevention education within a recovery-oriented framework.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Student Support & Recovery Services
- Provide non-clinical, recovery-affirming support to students, including goal setting, resource navigation, and strengths-based coaching.
- Maintain a consistent presence in CRP spaces to foster community, belonging, and peer connection.
- Facilitate or coordinate peer-led meetings, recovery groups, and sober social events.
- Uphold trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and inclusive practices in all student interactions.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with FERPA and institutional protocols.
2. Program Development & Coordination
- Develop, implement, and evaluate CRP programming aligned with ARHE's Collegiate Recovery Model.
- Coordinate workshops, trainings, and events that promote recovery, harm reduction, and well-being.
- Oversee CRP space operations, including scheduling, student access, and community norms.
- Collect and analyze program data to support continuous improvement and grant reporting.
3. Campus Partnerships & Systems Navigation
- Collaborate with campus partners, including Counseling Services, Health Services, Residence Life, Title IX, CARE Team, and Academic Support.
- Serve as a liaison between students and campus/community resources to ensure seamless referral pathways.
- Participate in campus committees related to well-being, prevention, and student support.
4. Community Engagement & External Partnerships
- Build and maintain partnerships with local recovery centers, treatment providers, prevention coalitions, and statewide recovery networks.
- Represent the CRP at community events, conferences, and professional gatherings.
5. Education, Outreach & Prevention
- Deliver educational workshops on recovery, harm reduction, substance use, and well-being.
- Support campus-wide prevention initiatives and awareness campaigns.
- Promote CRP visibility through outreach and collaboration with student organizations.
6. Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records, program documentation, and data for grants and institutional reporting.
- Assist with budget management, purchasing, and resource allocation.
- Contribute to strategic planning for CRP growth and sustainability.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other duties as assigned by the CRP Project Director to support CRP and institutional priorities.
Job Requirements:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, health education, psychology, counseling, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in student affairs, counseling, health promotion, case management, or related human-services work.
- At least 1 year of experience supporting individuals in recovery or working within behavioral-health or peer-support environments.
- Knowledge of substance use disorders (SUD) and recovery-oriented systems of care (ROSC).
- Experience working with college students or young adults in prevention, early intervention, recovery support, or behavioral health settings.
- Understanding of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, person-centered, and strengths-based approaches.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with campus and community partners within a coordinated system of care.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Candidates with lived experience of recovery are encouraged to apply; such experience is welcomed and valued but not required.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in public health, social work, health education, psychology, counseling, or a closely related field.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in college student support, behavioral health, or recovery-oriented programming.
- 1+ years of experience with grant-funded program coordination, reporting, or compliance.
- Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or eligibility and willingness to obtain certification within 18 months of employment.
- Familiarity with ARHE standards, collegiate recovery best practices, and campus-based recovery support models.
- Experience providing non-clinical recovery support services, peer-informed programming, and referral coordination.
- Experience with grant-supported initiatives, data tracking, and outcome reporting.
