Summary
Sambatek is looking for an entry-level Project Engineer to join our transportation team. In this role, you’ll work closely with experienced engineers to support a variety of transportation projects for county and state clients. You’ll help prepare project documents, learn industry standards and processes, and build your skills while contributing to meaningful work.

- Work Location: Hybrid, in office for training phase
- Expected Compensation Range: $31.25-37.00 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)
- Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week
Responsibilities
- Contribute to highway projects in preliminary design phase or plan development phase
- Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes
- Participate in quality review processes
- Perform CAD drafting in OpenRoads Designer
- Perform subtasks for a task lead or project manager as part of a collaborative team
- Spend time in the field, in addition to the office, to perform construction inspection, material testing, and see transportation project sites to grow as a designer
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 0-3 years of relevant experience
- Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
- Basic working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer preferred
- 3D corridor modeling experience preferred
- Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage tasks on a project with strong attention to detail
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment
- Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
