Attorney – Business Law – Williamsburg, VA

Sands Anderson is seeking a driven Attorney to join our team in Williamsburg, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is eager to support general business practice areas within a collaborative, client-focused firm.

Our business and corporate attorneys counsel business owners, investors, and organizations through the full spectrum of business and transactional matters. The work includes forming and structuring new ventures, negotiating complex contracts, guiding clients through mergers and acquisitions, and advising on governance, financing, and regulatory issues that impact day-to-day operations and long-term growth

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist in advising clients on a broad range of general business matters. The role offers hands-on experience working closely with experienced counsel on projects that include:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and corporate documents.
• Supporting mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions from due diligence through closing.
• Advising on corporate governance, business formation, and succession planning.
• Researching and analyzing state and federal laws affecting corporate and transactional matters.
• Guiding clients through licensing, certification, and reimbursement matters.
• Assisting with regulatory and licensing compliance for business clients across diverse industries, including healthcare organizations.
• Providing practical, business-oriented legal advice to help clients achieve their goals efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership (or eligibility) in the Virginia Bar.
• 3 or more years of experience in corporate, business, or transactional law preferred; candidates with a strong interest in healthcare law are encouraged to apply.
• Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to providing practical, business-minded solutions to clients.
