- Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, translating them into data-driven solutions that enhance decision-making capabilities and ensure data solutions align with operational priorities and contribute to improved efficiency and performance.
- Write programs to analyze data in a complex data environment and advance cross-functional workforce planning projects through project management and consultative services.
- Define system requirements, conduct gap analysis, and identify alternative solutions that meet project development standards as well as project milestones and deadlines.
- Organize, research, design, develop and deliver complex reports and analyses to support the County’s strategic objectives. Oversee the creation of complex data models and products with large data sources.
- Design, create, and support application interfaces for the transfer of data.
- Member of cross-organizational end-user support team responsible for maintaining production systems including developing processes for triaging and addressing production support issues.
- Conduct analyses of data to provide expected ranges of datasets, equity reviews, or reclassification data requests.
- Ensure compliance with County policies, procedures, and requirements and applicable legal regulations.
- Responsible for developing, testing, and generating reports from a host of systems and delivering results to clients, to include the creation of ad hoc reports and visualizations.
- Provide support on various analyses and reporting services that include conducting complex statistical and quantitative analyses and presenting data in written reports, oral presentations, and graphical displays.
- May train, supervise, mentor, evaluate and motivate data analytics team.
- Performs other additional appropriate duties as needed or assigned.
Knowledge/ Skills:
- Knowledge of data analysis methodologies and business intelligence principlest with thorough understanding of data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), and programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of query languages and reporting tools, with an understanding of how to extract meaningful insight.
- Skill in creating clear, impactful reports that summarize key findings and support decision making
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to follow oral and written instructions and keep accurate records of inspections and work activities.
- Ability to handle confidential material in a trustworthy manner.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly uses standard office equipment and is typically required to use manual dexterity, routine hearing, verbal communication and visual acuity to complete standard tasks, may also be required to stand, walk, sit, or reach with hands or arms. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Work schedule may include evening, weekend, emergency call and call-back hours. Some travel may be required.
Conditions of Employment:
Selected candidate must submit to and pass a County paid pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening. Additionally, selected candidate must submit to and pass a county paid criminal background screening. Selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Class D Driver’s License as incumbent shall be appointed to drive a County vehicle during the performance of his/her duties.
