About the Role
The Clinic Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting patient care by escorting patients to exam rooms, recording vital signs, and documenting their concerns. The Clinic Medical Assistant will administer injections and assist with or perform certain procedures under the provider’s direction. This role also maintains clinic readiness by monitoring sample medication expiration dates, ensuring adequate supplies, and stocking exam rooms daily.
How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Clinic Medical Assistant, you help ensure patient care and clinic operations run smoothly. You prepare patients, record vital signs, document concerns, assist with procedures, and administer injections under provider direction. You also maintain clinic efficiency by monitoring medication expiration dates, managing supplies, and keeping exam rooms stocked and ready each day.
Customer Service
- Room patients, take vital signs, and update medical history and medications in the EMR.
- Assist with scheduling, reminder calls, and patient flow as needed.
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care under the direction of providers
- Handle telephone triage and respond to patient inquiries in a prompt, professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff.
Billing Procedures
- Support accurate clinical documentation for billing and reimbursement, including patient consent forms, scheduling, and correct encounter use.
Inventory Management
- Monitor clinical inventory, including medications and supplies, for quantity and expiration dates. Discard outdated items.
- Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and organized daily.
Policies & Procedures
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
- Provide patient care under the direction of the physicians, respecting patient/family wishes, not to conflict with physician’s orders, ensuring the best interest of patient/customer. At no time should personal interests or beliefs interfere with treatment and care a patient/customer receives.
Organizational Support
- Assist with training new medical assistants on clinic workflows and EMR use.
- Support physician scheduling and maintain clinical templates as needed (time off, meetings, on-call, day in Park Lane Nursing Home).
- Assist with in-office procedures and administer injections under provider supervision.
- Coordinate referrals by sending orders to referral management
- Prepare charts at least one day prior to clinic day.
- Float to support coverage and patient volume as needed.
- Communicate issues or concerns to the Clinic Nurse Supervisor or Clinic Director.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- BLS/CPR certified, can offer training.
- Basic computer knowledge, with previous healthcare experience preferred.

- Proficient in basic computer systems and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, providers, staff, and administration.
Position Details
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm). Expected arrival between 8-8:30am; lunch break from 12-1:00om (mandatory clock-out). Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Physical Requirements: Medical office environment, frequent contact with patients, public and providers. Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as needed.
Equipment: Frequent computer use and interaction with clinical equipment such as; stethoscope, ear lavage, telephones, thermometer, exam table, copy machines, syringes, blood pressure cuff, Welch Allyn’s, audiometer, wheelchairs, minor surgical equipment and supplies.
