WHAT WE NEED

Project Controls Specialist

Sigma Engineers and Constructors is seeking an entry-level Project Controls Specialist to support project teams with both cost control and scheduling activities. This role is ideal for a recent college graduate interested in developing a career in project controls.

The Project Controls Specialist will assist with tracking project costs, maintaining schedules, monitoring project performance, and supporting project reporting efforts. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders, this position plays an important role in helping projects stay on schedule and within budget while gaining valuable experience in all aspects of project controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules and project budgets.
• Track project progress, milestones, deliverables, and expenditures.
• Support schedule and cost forecasting efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify schedule delays, cost variances, and potential project risks.
• Help prepare and maintain project status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and assist with trend analysis.
• Support the management of change orders and evaluate their impact on project schedules and budgets.
• Assist with risk identification, risk analysis, and mitigation planning.
• Maintain project documentation, including schedules, cost reports, forecasts, and change management records.
• Ensure project documentation is properly organized, version controlled, and accessible.
• Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders.
• Participate in project meetings and provide project controls support as needed.
• Assist project managers with monitoring project objectives, scope, schedule, and costs.
• Support project closeout activities and help identify lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Learn and apply project controls best practices, methodologies, and tools.

WHO WE NEED

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in construction management, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Internship, co-op, or project experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to learn scheduling and project controls software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, and Deltek.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
