The Department of Behavior Analysis in the School of Sciences and Health Professions (SSHP) invites applications for a contract non-tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice/Online Master’s Degree Program Director (“Director”) within our Behavior Analysis online Master’s degree program. The position will be filled for a 9/1/26 start (exact date negotiable). Work is remote, with preference given to candidates who are available in a hybrid capacity. Travel to our Boston campus may be expected periodically.
We seek innovative educators and scholars with demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development, a commitment to supporting program rigor and accreditation standards, experience supervising student research, and a knowledge of the challenges confronting behavior analysts today. As a University committed to inclusivity, we seek candidates with a demonstrated ability and commitment to working with individuals across a broad range of social and personal identities and perspectives. This position is fully dedicated to coordinating and supporting the Online Master’s Degree Program, overseeing program faculty and students, managing all administrative tasks, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. In addition, the position requires maintaining a teaching course load within the online Master’s program, with a possibility of teaching in other departmental programs (e.g., Doctoral or campus Master’s programs), depending on Department need.
Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing the program, faculty, students, student orientation, student registration, program tracking; conducting student and faculty performance assessments; and overseeing the coursework and degree completion for all online Master’s students. The successful candidate will ensure fidelity and compliance with the Association for Behavior Analysts International (ABAI) accreditation standards. The Director will also vet and manage program adjunct faculty and documentation; ensure faculty meet and maintain required qualifications for teaching coursework; maintain records; provide supervision, support, and training to faculty within the program; and ensure compliance with program and ABAI policies and protocols. Additional responsibilities are noted in the Job Description.
Upon hire, the Director will be expected to complete Simmons University training, maintain ABAI, Behavior Analyst Certification BoardⓇ, and CITI certifications, and adhere to Simmons University standards for research and supervision (e.g., Institutional Review Board).
Qualifications:
- PhD in Behavior Analysis or a closely related field required;
- Current Board Certified Behavior AnalystⓇ (BCBAⓇ or BCBA-DⓇ ) in good standing;
- Meets Behavior Analysis Certification BoardⓇ standards for providing supervision;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising students seeking Board Certification;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising BCBAsⓇ or BCBA-DsⓇ;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising student research;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting behavior analytic human subjects research and/or animal research, and the IRB and/or IACUC approval process
- Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching graduate-level behavior analytic coursework
- Experience teaching in an online learning environment
- A record of professional presentations and empirical research publications
- Demonstrated ability to work with students across a broad range of social and personal identities and perspectives
- Evidence of organizational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated evidence of working within university systems, policies, and processes to manage common issues in higher education
- Demonstrated commitment to collegiality and professional collaboration when interacting with others within the university community and profession

Salary Range: Assistant Professor of Practice: $67,500 - $82,500; Associate Professor of Practice: $76,500 - $93,500
