Job Title: Admissions Counselor, SWU GLOBAL Admissions
12-month, regular, full-time, exempt
Supervisor: Vice President of Enrollment Management
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The SWU Global Admissions Counselor serves as a member of the Office of Admissions at Southern Wesleyan University. This position is responsible for the recruitment of potential students for the online programs offered by the university and the achievement of all phases of the admission process, from successfully marketing the programs to qualifying students for admission selection and enrollment. Position will work on-campus and remotely.
Essential Duty and Responsibility is: TO ASSIST WITH ALL ASPECTS OF STUDENT RECRUITMENT AND ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT FOR GLOBAL ADMISSIONS BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING:
- Represent SWU GLOBAL at various recruiting events, as well as Southern Wesleyan University functions (this responsibility will require some travel).
- Coordinate and conduct recruiting visits with corporate partners, community colleges, conferences, educational and benefit fairs as identified within the recruiting plan.
- Review inquiries, leads, and applications for completion status in the recruiting funnel.
- Conduct interviews and coordinate visits with prospective students.
- Maintain collaborative working relationships with the SWU Global Executive Coordinator.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Manage assigned area communication plan for inquiries, applied and accepted students. This communication includes phone calls, e-mail and mail documentation.
- Utilize the Slate CRM contact system to assist with recruiting efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, serving as a primary resource for them throughout the admissions process.
- Maintain proper communication and follow-up with all applicants through the Slate CRM in accordance with SWU’s admissions policies and process requirements.
- Conduct other admissions-related duties as assigned and approved by Dean of Online Learning and Graduate Education.
- Prepare assigned weekly and monthly enrollment reports as required by the Dean of Online Learning and Graduate Education.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. He/she must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. He/she must possess personal characteristics and values consistent with the mission of SWU: friendly, approachable, patient, caring, flexible, professional, self-directed, trustworthy, committed to task, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree from a four year regionally accredited college or university.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
He/she should possess strong oral and written communication skills. Maintaining frequent contact with prospective students is essential to job success. Must possess the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, families, groups, school administrators, and the public. Must have the ability to always maintain the highest form of professionalism and under various circumstances.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must have the ability and be licensed to operate a motor vehicle and must be able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
