Job title: Coordinator - Early Language and Literacy
The Early Language and Literacy Coordinator facilitates engaging early language, literacy, and Raising a Reader (RAR) programs for families in community-based settings. This role recruits and supports participating families through community partnerships and outreach, delivers high-quality parent-child learning experiences, promotes at-home reading routines, and supports program success through accurate reporting and collaboration with the Early Language and Literacy Supervisor.
What you’ll do:
- Facilitate Raising a Reader (RAR) and other early language and literacy programs at community locations, including schools, libraries, pediatric clinics, and apartment communities.
- Recruit eligible families through community partnerships, outreach efforts, and relationship-building activities.
- Create a welcoming, interactive, and engaging learning environment for caregivers and children.
- Deliver curriculum and training modules in accordance with program requirements and established learning objectives.
- Support families in developing and maintaining positive at-home reading habits and literacy practices.
- Maintain accurate program records, reports, and required documentation.
- Assist with the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of program services and activities.
- Collaborate with the Early Language and Literacy Supervisor to support program goals, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll bring:
- BA/BS - Early Childhood Development or related field with expertise pertaining to literacy development in young children required.
- Experience in early communication, language, and literacy development in children ages birth to five preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in the field of early education or related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
- Possess an insured & registered vehicle and a valid AZ driver’s license.
- Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- DES Criminal Affidavit Required
- AZ DHS Criminal History Affidavit Required
- FPC DPS Verification Required
