We are looking for a compassionate and energetic Substitute Teacher to support classroom learning and development for children 0 to 5. The ideal candidate will work closely with fellow teachers to provide a nurturing, educational environment that promotes children's growth across cognitive, social-emotional, and motor skills. This position offers a flexible schedule. Substitute Teachers work as needed for 0-19 hours per week. Substitute Teachers are not tied to one location and can work in as many classrooms as they want! Mileage reimbursement is provided when subbing outside of your primary work location.
Substitute teachers are needed in the following locations:
- Boscobel, WI
- Darlington, WI
- Dodgeville, WI
- Lancaster, WI
- Muscoda, WI
- Platteville, WI
- Richland Center, WI
Please note that if you intend to sub in multiple locations, you only need to submit 1 application
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans in various skill areas.
- Help coordinate classroom activities and arrange room setup for safety and learning.
- Support the lead teacher in documenting lesson plans, observations, assessments, and other reports.
- Conduct child assessments to individualize learning and monitor progress.
- Use positive behavior guidance techniques and help children develop social problem-solving skills.
- Engage parents in classroom activities, making them feel welcome and involved.
- Supervise and support children during meals, rest, toileting, and daily activities.
- Ensure the safety of all children with active supervision throughout the day.
- Help maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized classroom.
- Access to reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred but not required...
- Bilingual- English & Spanish (additional $1 per hour if proficient and used in an eligible classroom)
- CPR with AED knowledge & First Aid certification for children and adults
- Previous childcare experience or education highly preferred
