Specialty Orthopedic Group is seeking a compassionate, detail oriented Financial Counselor to join our Surgery Center team. This position will be full-time, Monday-Thursday 10 hour days.

Job Summary
The Financial Counselor helps patients understand their financial responsibilities and navigate the insurance and payment process before receiving care. If you enjoy helping others, communicating clearly, and working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, we'd love to hear from you!
Job Responsibilities
- Meet with patients to explain insurance benefits, estimated out-of-pocket costs, and payment options.
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, deductibles, co-pays, authorizations, and pre-certifications.
- Calculate patient financial responsibility for scheduled procedures.
- Assist patients with payment arrangements and answer billing-related questions.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve benefit and billing issues.
- Maintain accurate patient financial records and documentation.
- Perform quality checks to ensure financial information is complete and accurate before services are rendered.
- Support front office and business office operations as needed.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Medical Billing or related field preferred, or equivalent healthcare business office experience.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, medical terminology, and healthcare billing preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
