Are you the kind of person who knows every client's goals by heart, earns trust before it's asked for, and keeps complex programs moving without losing the thread of why any of it matters?
About the role
The Client Partner is the strategic center of a client engagement at Spotlight. You are the relationship — accountable for how the client experiences our work, how their AR program performs, and how confidently they can point to results. Spotlight helps enterprise technology companies build and sustain influence with analysts, industry voices, customers, and key communities, and you are the person who translates that mission into a program that works for your specific clients.
This is a mid-level role that blends the relationship management of a post-sales account manager with the strategic instincts of a consultant. You'll own a portfolio of clients, partner closely with Associate Client Partners on program execution, and collaborate with Spotlight's Research & Intelligence team to bring market insight into everything your clients do. You report to a Client Executive.
Those effective in this role...
Own client relationships end-to-end — from onboarding to renewal — ensuring clients feel consistently heard, well-served, and clear on the value Spotlight is delivering.
Drive program strategy and engagement planning for each client, collaborating with their leadership and internal stakeholders to align AR activity with business goals.
Manage the full cadence of client interactions — scheduling, prep, execution, and follow-through — so nothing stalls and no opportunity is missed.
Communicate with executive-level client contacts in a way that is direct, confident, and calibrated to their priorities, both in writing and in the room.
Recognize urgent opportunities and act on them quickly, making smart judgment calls without waiting to be told what to do.
Track and report on program performance with an analytical eye, translating data into clear narratives that demonstrate impact and inform next steps.
Mentor and guide Associate Client Partners, creating a collaborative environment where the team executes with consistency and care.
What you bring
Relationship depth. You build trust with clients that holds up over time — not just in the good moments, but when programs get complicated or priorities shift. You know how to manage expectations, deliver hard news well, and still leave people feeling confident in the partnership.
Program ownership. You're comfortable holding the full picture of a client engagement in your head: the goals, the timeline, the stakeholders, and the risks. You plan proactively, adapt quickly, and keep your team oriented even when things change.
Executive-level communication. You can write a tight status update, lead a client briefing, and navigate a difficult conversation — all in the same week. You adjust your style for different audiences without losing your point, and you make complex things feel clear.
Analytical mindset. You use data to tell a story and make a case. Whether you're measuring program performance or building a case for a new initiative, you know how to find the signal in the noise and present it in a way that resonates with a business audience.
You're organized without being rigid, client-first without being a pushover, and you bring an energy to your work that makes clients — and colleagues — genuinely glad you're in their corner.
You could come from account management, project management, sales, consulting, public relations, or a field where managing relationships and juggling competing priorities was the job — regardless of the industry.
