The Department of Communication Studies is committed to successful teaching of core requirements in Communication to diverse student body in support of the University’s Catholic and Vincentian Mission.
Responsibilities:
SPE 1000 Core Public Speaking
Description: introduction to the theory and practice of public speaking in a variety of communication contexts. Students will learn and practice the principles of public speaking, including topic choice, audience adaptation, invention and arrangement of arguments, and the incorporation of the appropriate style to the message. Additionally, students will learn techniques in active listening and message evaluation.
Credit:
3 semester hours.
Qualifications:
MA in Communication Studies or related field.
Strong background in public speaking.
Teaching experience in communication studies.
