Job Description and Duties
Are you a seasoned safety professional who wants to make a difference? Do you have the ability to manage a team of loss prevention staff who provide onsite loss prevention services to help our policyholders make their workplaces safe? State Compensation Insurance Fund has an opening for a Loss Prevention Manager in the Los Angeles & Orange Counties area.
As the Loss Prevention Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of staff that delivers onsite safety services for our Southern California policyholders in the Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties areas. You’ll be involved in creating and executing innovative strategies that make a difference in making California workplaces safe. In addition, you will be responsible to:
- Supervise a team of loss prevention personnel
- Assist management and senior staff in supervising, evaluating and monitoring the training of loss prevention staff
- Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives
- Provide public presentations on occupational safety and health topics
- Oversee the analysis of effectiveness of programs
- Provide support for development of policies and procedures and provide support to management
Preferred skills you bring to the position:
- Knowledge of California workers compensation industry
- Knowledge of carrier/broker relationships
- Knowledge of Cal OSHA safety regulations
- Advanced certifications such as ARM, CSP, CIH
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
- Ability to travel within your territory and to statewide meetings
This position is a teleworking management position, which must be located within the geographic territory being managed. The Area Manager for the Los Angels & Orange Counties area is highly preferred to reside in one of the following counties: Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernadino, or Riverside.
