Position Description
Strategic Systems is seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager (Hunter) to drive new client acquisition and revenue growth throughout the Phoenix market. This role is responsible for developing net-new business opportunities by selling Strategic Systems' full portfolio of workforce and technology solutions, including IT staffing, consulting services, project-based engagements, managed services, and digital transformation solutions. This is a true hunter role focused on opening new accounts, building executive relationships, and creating long-term strategic partnerships. Success will be measured by pipeline generation, new client acquisition, profitable revenue growth, and expanding Strategic Systems' presence throughout the Phoenix market. The ideal candidate has a proven history of selling technology services or IT staffing, thrives on prospecting, and is passionate about helping organizations solve business challenges through talent and technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & New Client Acquisition
- Identify, prospect, and secure new client relationships across targeted industries throughout the Phoenix market.
- Develop and execute territory plans focused on net-new logo acquisition.
- Generate opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, LinkedIn, executive outreach, industry events, and strategic prospecting.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline capable of consistently exceeding revenue objectives.
- Develop strategic account plans to expand relationships across multiple business units.
Consultative Solution Selling
- Sell Strategic Systems' complete portfolio of services, including:
- IT Contract Staffing
- Contract-to-Hire
- Direct Hire
- Project Services
- Technology Consulting
- Managed Services
- Workforce Solutions
- Conduct executive-level discovery to understand business initiatives, workforce challenges, technology roadmaps, and organizational priorities.
- Position staffing, consulting, and technology solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Partner with solution architects, recruiting, and delivery teams to develop customized client solutions.
Executive Relationship Management
- Develop relationships with hiring managers, directors, VPs, CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, procurement leaders, HR executives, and C-level stakeholders.
- Establish Strategic Systems as a trusted advisor and long-term technology partner.
- Identify cross-selling and expansion opportunities across existing client organizations.
Sales Execution
- Own the entire sales lifecycle from prospecting through contract negotiation, close, and account expansion.
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM activity.
- Negotiate pricing and Statements of Work while maintaining profitable margins.
- Consistently achieve or exceed sales, pipeline, and activity goals.
Market Development
- Represent Strategic Systems at industry associations, networking events, technology conferences, and community organizations.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technology initiatives.
- Build Strategic Systems' brand and reputation throughout the Phoenix business community.
Internal Collaboration
- Partner with recruiting, delivery, consulting, and leadership teams to ensure successful client outcomes.
- Share market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights.
- Collaborate on go-to-market strategies and strategic account planning.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of successful business development experience selling IT staffing, technology consulting, professional services, managed services, or workforce solutions.
- Demonstrated success acquiring net-new clients and consistently exceeding sales quotas.
- Proven experience developing opportunities through cold calling, prospecting, networking, and consultative selling.
- Experience selling into enterprise and mid-market organizations.
- Ability to communicate with executive-level decision-makers and build long-term strategic relationships.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and solution-selling skills.
- Strong territory planning, CRM, and pipeline management experience.
- Highly competitive, self-motivated, and driven to win new business.

Candidates should be located in the Greater Phoenix area and comfortable meeting with clients, attending networking events, conducting onsite meetings, and developing business throughout the local market.
