Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist will provide procurement support to all Strike’s Gulf Coast Region. Prepare, create, and process requisitions and Purchase Orders for the procurement of goods and services.
Primary Job Functions:
- Support company’s procurement needs, from bid process to Purchase Order issuance and management of open commitments.
- Identify, prepare, create, and process requisitions and Purchase Orders for the procurement of goods and services.
- Coordinate and assist with Strike’s required documents for suppliers, including but not limited to purchase orders, change orders and any related documents.
- Support management of supplier qualification requirements, including, contract, safety and insurance expectations, and established pricing.
- Ensure that documents related to suppliers are stored properly for accurate retention and retrieval in proper electronic storage and data formats.
- Identify and prepare cost savings and avoidance reports.
- Represent Strike in recurring meetings with suppliers, including account overview.
Experience:
- 2+ years of relevant procurement experience
- Previous experience in a construction, energy services and/or project management environment.
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher is strongly preferred
- Procurement certification from accredited institution strongly preferred
Competencies:
- Demonstrate initiative to solve complex problems.
- Strong proficiency of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exercise sound judgment, be well organized, have excellent oral and written communications skills, work well under pressure, take the initiative, and be flexible and cooperative.
- Accuracy, timeliness, tact, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively with both employees and managers.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Respect for confidentiality concerning customer information and company records.
- Convey a positive and professional image to customers and peers.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, talk and hear.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms to grasp.
- Frequently required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Some travel.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
