- Install Systems: Safely install residential (CPVC/plastic) and commercial (steel) fire sprinkler systems.
- Read Plans: Interpret blueprints, construction plans, and layouts accurately.
- Build & Troubleshoot: Install, modify, and troubleshoot fire sprinkler piping networks according to NFPA 13, 13R, and 13D standards.
- Own the Jobsite: Work independently while maintaining high productivity and clean craftsmanship.
- Communicate: Represent Symons professionally when talking with builders, inspectors, and jobsite superintendents.
- $25.00 – $45.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of full-time fire sprinkler installation experience.
- A current, valid California Certified Fire Sprinkler Fitter Card.
- Experience with steel pipe and/or CPVC systems (both preferred).
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow and provide directions.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Clean driving record is a plus.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- OSHA 10, BlazeMaster, and CPR/First Aid certifications must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment if not already certified.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Lift up to 100 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders throughout the workday.
- Work overhead using tools and materials.
- Work in varying weather and construction site conditions.
- Safely use hand and power tools.
- Distinguish colors for proper installation and identification of system components.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily on active residential and commercial construction sites. Employees may be exposed to:
- Wet or humid conditions
- Loud noise levels
- Heights and ladders
- Moving mechanical equipment
- Electrical hazards
Technology
Basic familiarity with mobile devices is required. Experience using Paycom, Outlook, and BuilderTrend is a plus.
