NOTICE OF VACANCY CENTRAL OFFICE BOOKKEEPERTANTASQUA REGIONAL/UNION 61 DISTRICTSAnticipated Start Date: ImmediateReports To: Business and Finance DirectorPosition SummaryThe Central Office Bookkeeper assists in managing the school districts business and financial operations. This role focuses primarily on processing payroll and handling accounts payable. The ideal candidate will maintain meticulous financial records and ensure administrative compliance across the district.Core ResponsibilitiesPayroll Administration: Process hourly and salaried payroll, calculate time cards, manage adjustments, and maintain updated personnel and leave records.Accounts Payable & Procurement: Manage purchase orders, track line-item balances, verify invoice payments, and prepare financial warrants for official approval.Financial Reconciliation: Balance district financial accounts with town accountants and manage cash receipt turnovers to the town treasurer.Reporting & Compliance: Support annual budget and town report processes as needed, print financial and system reports as needed/requested.Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the Director. Required Knowledge & AbilitiesFinancial Management: Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable; ability to maintain accurate financial records, post general ledger entries.Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern office equipment, manual/computerized record-keeping, and both Google and Windows-based applications.Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to trace errors, resolve discrepancies, and exercise independent judgment.Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate tactfully and professionally with district and town staff.QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required.
