TechFlow is seeking an experienced Agile Project Manager to support a mission-critical DoD software development and modernization program in Montgomery, AL. This program provides software development and technical support services to sustain, enhance, and optimize a critical customer system through secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
Working in partnership with the Program Manager and Scrum Master, the Agile Project Manager will coordinate Agile planning and execution activities, maintain program management tools and metrics, facilitate collaboration across technical teams and Government stakeholders, and help ensure software delivery remains aligned with program priorities. This role emphasizes Agile project coordination, reporting, backlog management, and continuous process improvement rather than serving as the team's primary Scrum Master.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Agile project management tools supporting product backlog management, sprint planning, task tracking, release planning, and sprint reporting.
- Coordinate Agile project activities across cross-functional teams, ensuring work is organized, prioritized, and aligned with program objectives.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, dependencies, impediments, and resource constraints, and work with program leadership to resolve issues.
- Maintain sprint burndown charts, velocity metrics, release readiness metrics, and other Agile performance indicators.
- Generate automated dashboards, reports, and project metrics from Government-approved Agile management tools to provide real-time visibility into program performance.
- Collaborate with Government stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical teams to clarify requirements, refine product backlogs, and manage scope changes.
- Maintain traceability between customer requirements, user stories, development tasks, testing activities, and delivered capabilities.
- Facilitate risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution throughout sprint execution and release planning activities.
- Promote Agile best practices and continuous improvement by encouraging collaboration, transparency, and efficient delivery processes across the program.
- Support release planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile activities as needed.
- Prepare project status reports, executive briefings, and performance summaries for program leadership and Government stakeholders.
- Ensure project documentation, schedules, and Agile artifacts remain accurate, current, and compliant with program requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
- Current Agile certification such as: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist (SA) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP). Certification must remain current throughout employment
- Minimum 3 years of Agile project management experience supporting DoD software development or modernization programs.
- Experience using Agile project management platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or comparable Government-approved tools.
- Experience managing Agile backlogs, sprint planning, project tracking, and program reporting.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum principles, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Experience developing project metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
- Excellent organizational, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting U.S. Air Force software development or modernization programs.
- Experience coordinating multiple Agile teams on complex software delivery programs.
- Familiarity with the DoD Software Acquisition Pathway (SWP).
- Experience supporting DevSecOps and CI/CD software delivery environments.
- Knowledge of risk management, requirements traceability, and software release management.
- Experience using Power BI, Jira dashboards, Azure DevOps Analytics, or similar reporting tools.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
